Nintendo Wii i guess this is..... i don't know, i thought that's obvious. the wii has more than enough computing power to run an emulator, and all emulators -- while not exactly coded the same -- are basically translating one language to another language. and they come out identical. so is it really surprising that VC games are just ROMS with an emulator? and a HTML page as a user guide?i don't think so.when it comes to this current consoles emulation though, i found the PS3/PSN to do some weird stuff.i might be wrong, but I am almost positive a game like Destruction Derby downloads at about >100 mbs (say 130 mb) on the PS3 and installs at that size. But, when I "install" the game on my PSP the game size comes out to say "40 mb". I'm not quite sure what's going on. If they include a compressed ROM with compressed textures and music, etc that is specifically designed for the PSP while the PS3 uses the original ROM. not sure.anyway, if I was a wii owner (which I would be if I could ever find a damn wii) i'd be happy about this. Cuz that means that it would be getting very close to basically having the Wii be like my PSP. Wherein you could have a bunch of emulators and a bunch of games housed on it. Imagine (wii must be hacked first, and say have custom firmware) having an external drive hooked up to the wii with every single NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, Neo Geo, and every other damn console game imaginable (it comes out to about 8 gigs excluding Neo Geo and N64 which would up the size substantially). Now that would make the Wii even more f'n awesome. And from what I've read, it sounds like they have been successful at 'hacking' / 'cracking' it.Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console games have been fully dumped, decrypted, and extracted. We found there are ROMS in the virtual console games and they are even playable in emulators (ex: Snes9x). Most of all, the documentation for a virtual console game that is viewable on the Nintendo Wii is just a bunch of HTML files! SCREENSHOTS INCLUDED.
