Attacks Solar Energy

"In a scathing letter, later released to the press, Ensign accused the lobby group of squandering goodwill by accusing him of favouring "billionaire hedge fund managers" over job creation in Nevada.""Ensign said that he opposed the bills because the funds for tax breaks would have been raised by increasing the burden on the oil and gas industry"If he doesn't like the criticism, he shouldn't whore himself out like that.In a blistering attack, Nevada’s Republican senator John Ensign has launched an offensive against solar energy lobbyists, ahead of a crucial vote on renewable energy tax credits.

Galactica Goes Planet of the Apes

Definitely a great episode. It's going to kill me to wait 6 months for the next one. I don't know why they have to split the show up like that. I'm really going to need alternatives to get through the next 6 monthsFriday's episode of Battlestar Galactica — the last we'll be seeing of the humans-&-cyborgs psychodrama until next year — was called Revelations. The episode lived up to its name, which was a relief after an entire season holding our breaths waiting for certain dark robo-secrets to come to light. Oftentimes when a show gives us the big reveal . . .

CoD4

I guess there's a lesson to be learned in this.Must have been a more creative way to finish him off than a random shotgun round?Doesn't look like he had any claymores or C4 but a well placed pistol round to the back of the head would have been better.Personaly I'd have thrown some C4 at the poster and blew it the second it hit

Add Ons. No One Knows Them

There are lots many add-ons for FireFox and you can fall in love with most of them, however these are such extensions, which take the simple & cool browser to a whole new level and shouldn’t be missed by anyone. Here's what I use, along with a brief description so you don't have to look every single one up.Adblock Filterset.G Updater-Automatically updates the filter Adblock Plus uses.Adblock Plus-Pretty obvious what this does.Autofill Forms-Fills out registration forms and the like automatically. It screws up sometimes, but overall it saves me a heap of time.Better Gmail 2-I like the changes to the interface this addon presents.Color Management-Forces firefox to adhere to your video card's custom color profile when rendering images. Results in richer colors.Distrust-Because porn leaves a trail.Download Statusbar-Better than the download manager, in my opinion.Firebug-Fun to mess around with when bored, and turns out to be pretty useful if I actually have to scour through source code.Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer-Syncs my bookmarks to a server to allow me to retrieve them from anywhere. Especially useful if Firefox ever crashes and loses that info.Gmail Manager-Constantly updated info on the status of my Gmail inbox.Nightly Tester Tools-I like to force-install incompatible addons.Personas for Firefox-Because the Viva Firefox theme is awesome.Piclens-Browse videos and images in a 3D environment.Searchbar Autosizer-Dynamically resizes the searchbar so it only takes up space when you need it.Youtube Comment Snob-Because most Youtubers haven't hit puberty.

Verizon blocks access to whole USENET hierarchy

Although this is only half-related, censorship in general has a new enemy; enter the Brightnet. Nobody hides away (as opposed to a darknet) because every piece of information is stored by representing files in a random manner. The method of storing files in a randomized fashion is built on an inescapable property of mathematics--the fact that there is an infinite number of representations for any given number.Anyways, if you're interested just check out the project wiki for the Owner-Free FilesystemVerizon has released details of the agreement it and other ISPs signed last week to block access to Usenet groups that have been caught trafficking child pornography. Instead of simply blocking the handful of offending groups, however, Verizon has decided to enforce a blanket ban on what could be tens of thousands of completely innocent groups.

Tiger Woods Wins US Open in Sudden Death

On the 91st hole at Torrey Pines, Woods stood strong on his wobbly left knee in putting away a determined Rocco Mediate in sudden death to win his 14th major title."I tried to break him down mentally, tried to intimidate him verbally, by saying, 'Water on the right, OB on the left,' just before his downswing," Woods once said in an AP interview. "He would look at me with the most evil look, but he wasn't permitted to say anything. That's the frustration. He couldn't say a word, but he always had an escape word. He never used it."One day I did all my tricks, and he looked at me and smiled," Woods said. "At the end of the round, I told him, 'Tiger, you've completed the training.' And I made him a promise. 'You'll never run into another person as mentally tough as you.' He hasn't. And he won't."

The Wide Divide (Graph of CEO pay vs Average Worker)

Picture speaks for itself. This is sick. I should get to decide how much they get paid. That seems like a fair solution. And by coincidence I think that the maximum salary should be right around what my salary is. Because getting paid more than me is just plain unfair, and I'm a precious little snowflake

New Policy On A.P. stories:They’re Banned

The Associated Press went after Drudge Retort for having the audacity to link to their stories along with short quotations via reader submisisons. Drudge Report is doing nothing different than what Digg, TechMeme, Mixx and dozens of other sites do, and frankly the fact that they are being linked to should be considered a favor.
